Production optimisation through customised inflow control

All goods flows for customised production supplying are concentrated at the Consolidation Centres and Supplier Logistics Centres (SLC).

Worldwide production lines are supplied at the Consolidation Centres, where goods from all over the continent are received and consolidated. Order picking and packing takes place according to the customised production plan and retrieval process. The complete consignment unit is shipped worldwide after containerisation and customs clearance. BLG operates the entire logistics chain from inflow control to shipment.

The Logistics Supplier Centres are on site, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the production plants to be supplied. Just In Time and Just In Sequence repacking in smaller quantities and assembly line supplying are offered here. Once developed for the automobile industry, this concept was also successfully adapted for the kitchen industry and uses innovative techniques, such as Walking Floor or automatic small parts warehouse, at the centres to ensure optimised and flexible processes.
