Duisburg

The Duisburg site offers a vehicle capacity for 7,200 vehicles over an area of 177,000 m². 65 permanent, company employees and approx. 35 staff from external service providers and temporary personnel attend to the handling, warehousing and technical processing of the vehicles, as well as the reworking of used cars. The vehicles come from all over Germany by truck, from Belgium and Dutch ports by barge and from the European manufacturer factories by rail. The vehicles are temporarily stored at the terminal and from there distributed to dealers nationwide.

The tri-modal terminal is equipped with connections to the 3 transport routes through 2 siding tracks with 2 head ramps to unload rail carriages, a heavy-duty RoRo ramp for inland water vessels, as well as a direct road connection to the highways in North-Rhine Westphalia. The largest clients at this terminal are Renault, Opel and Mosolf GmbH & Co. KG.

PDI centre

At the Duisburg site, BLG offers a technical centre in which vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers are processed with a high degree of technicality. The technical centre is equipped with a fully-automated car wash and the possibility of removing copolymer and paraffin wax protection.

The technical centre also offers two combined painting cabins with a remote-controlled car hoist-truck system in the paintwork area, and several car hoists in the mechanics area. The equipment there enables all technical work to be performed according to manufacturer specifications. Any finish according to client wishes can also be given in the processing area.

The services at the Duisburg site range from inspections and repairs, to modifications. They also cover the area of de-preservation and washing, to paintwork, and the area of used car reworking. Work in the SmartRepair and cold pressing area is also offered.
